Space Denuclearization & Evolution of Warfare Technology
The DISEC Committee will convene to address one of the most pressing and multifaceted challenges in contemporary society: the denuclearization of space and the ethical evolution of warfare technology. As technological advancements continue to expand the frontier of military capability, the potential militarization of outer space presents unprecedented risks to global stability. This committee will explore the legal, ethical, and security dimensions of preventing the placement or use of nuclear weapons and other destructive armaments beyond Earth's atmosphere. Delegates will examine pathways for strengthening international frameworks, including the potential development and enforcement of new global pacts, as well as the role of both multilateral and unilateral initiatives in achieving lasting security. Discussions will place particular emphasis on the ethical use of emerging military technologies and the legal instruments available to impede the deployment of weapons designed to incapacitate, destabilize, or destroy critical systems.
